Usual residence one year ago indicator

The usual residence one year ago indicator is a person’s usual residence one year ago in relation to their usual residence on 6 March 2018. It provides information on the migration of people within New Zealand and of those who have arrived from overseas over the last year prior to 6 March 2018. The five categories for usual residence one year ago indicator excluding residual categories are:

• same as usual residence
• elsewhere in New Zealand
• not born one year ago
• overseas
• no fixed abode one year ago.
