Description

An emergency situation posing significant danger to life and property that results from a natural cause (The Free Dictionary, Farlex). The Earthquake Commission Act 1993 defines 'Natural disaster' as (a) An earthquake, natural landslip, volcanic eruption, hydrothermal activity, or tsunami; or (b) Natural disaster fire; or (c) In the case only of residential land, a storm or flood. For the purpose of this survey, natural disasters will include possible pandemics such as Avian Bird Flu.
