Absences from work en-NZ
Description
  1. If the person continues to receive a wage or salary while away from work, any length of absence should be counted as employed.
  2. If the person is on an unpaid leave, any absence of one month or more is not counted as a continuous period of employment.
  3. If a person is working for an employer on contract, and at the end of the contractual period their contract is renewed so that they continue to do the same job, as long as this renewal occurs within the week they shall be considered to have been in continuous employment. If the renewal of the contract takes place after 1 week i.e. there is a gap of more than a week between contract dates, then this is considered as an absence from work.
