Description

Paid parental leave is a government-funded entitlement paid to eligible working mothers and other primary caregivers such as adoptive parents or grandparents when they take parental leave from their job(s) to care for their newborn or adopted child (under the age of six). Inland revenue pays this fortnightly for a total of 18 weeks. PPL can be transferred to a spouse or partner, as long as they also qualify for PPL from their employer or self-employment.
