Description

Gender – not Sex. Gender identity is defined as an individual’s internal sense of being wholly female, wholly male, or having aspects of female and/or male. Gender identity is understood to refer to each person’s deeply felt internal and individual experience of gender, which may or may not correspond with the sex recorded at birth. See http://www.stats.govt.nz/methods/classifications-and-standards/classification-related-stats-standards/gender-identity.aspx for further details. Notes: 1=Male, 2=Female, 3=Gender Diverse. There are times where a transgender Client’s gender is captured as Male or Female as determined by how they present themselves at Auckland City Mission, rather than Gender Diverse. This variable contains both gender and sex responses. Where sex exists, that is used. Where sex does not exist, gender is used.

This variable is not part of a dataset.
