Leoppock (1935), 'any combination of psychological, physiological and environmental circumstances that causes a person to truthfully say, I am satisfied with my job'. The level of contentment/happiness a respondent has to a number of aspects of his or her main job. These include pay opportunities for promotion amount of hours respondent is able to work (would they prefer more or less hours) work environment/conditions nature of work colleagues/coworkers manager/supervisor operating procedures health and safety 'unsociable hours'
