Variable Description
An encrypted/transformed department of labour unique identifier.
in the ministry of business, innovation and employment (mbie) immigration data, snz_dol_uid is derived from the variable client_nbr – which is the source agencies’ personal identifier variable. in the mbie data, a relationship therefore exists between snz_dol_uid and a passport_nbr (as the mbie immigration data collects passport number). in the itm data, a relationship exists between snz_cus_journey_uid and passport nbr. we can extend these relationships and infer a relationship between snz_dol_uid and snz_cus_journey_uid, as we build the mbie tables first in the idi production system. these relationships mean we can give each record in the itm dataset a snz_dol_uid, which represents an individual in the dataset. this identifier will remain the same for an identity across refreshes. where we receive more information during a subsequent refresh that indicates two or more identities represent the same identity, the identifier may change.
