Description
Dwelling occupancy status is the variable that classifies all dwellings according to whether they are occupied or not and why they are unoccupied on the day of the data collection.
A dwelling is defined for the Census of Population and Dwellings use, as occupied if it is: Occupied at midnight on the night of the data collection; or Occupied at any time during the twelve hours following midnight on the night of the data collection unless the occupant(s) completed a questionnaire at another dwelling during this period.
A dwelling is defined for all other surveys, as occupied if it is: Occupied during the period of data collection.
