The Tenancy Bond (DBH) data documents the content of the Bond Lodgement table that MBIE provides to Stats NZ to use in the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). The DBH datasets contain administrative data collected from 2000 to (ongoing) for individuals who have lodged a bond for a tenancy, including individuals in state housing, rentals owned by local governments, and government entities.

Feb 2011: As a result of the Christchurch earthquakes, there will likely be a spike in bond refunds in the Canterbury region around this time. Short-term tenancies are also likely to have increased, which means they would not necessarily have been captured by this dataset.
