Body site of injury

Description

The body site of the injury is the part or parts of the body damaged in the injury event, as reported to ACC. Claims from accredited employers use an additional category stated as “Back Except Head Vertebrae”. These claims have been assigned to a category using the Read Code as reported by the treatment provider.

Due to data quality issues, body site of injury is recorded as ’Unobtainable’ for 2012–2014 for claims made through accredited employers. This contributes to the large number of claims in this category during those years.
