Serious non-fatal injury

Description

Injury with a 6.9 percent or greater chance of mortality. This is considered to be life threatening enough to require hospitalisation in most cases. Using this severity threshold means that these injuries are less likely to be missing from the data due to people not going to hospital. ACC claims data is used to identify work-related injuries.
